We Tried It: Crown Braid Tutorial!

I’ve told my husband that my next business venture will be creating DisPinterest, a site where you repin all the gross recipes and DIY projects that looked so promising on Pinterest, but totally disappoint when you try them out in real life. Anyway, yesterday during naptime I was trolling Pinterest and decided to give this crown braid tutorial a whirl. Hoorah! I found a Pin that is actually do-able and lives up to the hype!

First of all, I’m not sure why the tutorial girl wasted her pristine blown-out hair on a braid. Regardless, this braid was easy and a good Summer look for third-day hair (moms, you know what I mean). While I pride myself on my makeup artistry, I am terrible at doing hair. And I don’t even know how to french braid. But I followed the picture instructions, and it was easy to create a hip look that’s perfect for the pool! Took three minutes, and I swear I didn’t even do a second take.

The tutorial was not clear on how to “finish” the braid, so I just stopped braiding right past my ear and gathered the hair into a half-pulled-through ponytail like I do 99% of the time.
