Why Am I So Obsessed With Yellow?

Bright yellow was all over the runways for Fall 2014-15, but I have been craving it for months now! I’m very specific about this yellow– it must be bright, almost neon, acidy yellow chartreuse. I promise it won’t wash you out.

I have two sweaters in this color: one from last year’s Prabal Garung collection for Target (this Equipment sweater [on sale!] is similar), and a v-neck from Banana Republic that I got more recently (now 35% OFF). I cannot. stop. wearing. them. As seen on my Instagram (@bookbeautynow):

Above I’m pairing my Banana Republic sweater with a fun recent purchase, the Proenza Schouler PS11 Small Bracelet. If you like my Tory Burch gold perforated leather fancy “Vans” (a few available here, and I wear them constantly), or check out blogger The Blonde Salad’s gold ones for Steve Madden.

And on another day showing my Banana sweater with cute $7 gold necklaces from Old Navy (go to your local store– Old Navy doesn’t sell jewelry online. Don’t know why).

Looks awesome with a bright lip! Below I am wearing Hourglass Opaque Rouge Liquid Lipstick in Muse, a bright coral. The chartreuse sweater also pairs well with Radiant Orchid-ish Bobbi Brown Lipstick in Cosmic Lily.

Ooh! This dress from DKNY caught my eye:

And bonus: I already have identical peep-toe booties from Jimmy Choo! (PS, my booties are HALF  PRICE at Bergdorf Goodman if you happen to wear 39.5/9.5!)

I’m totally obsessed with the color of Marc Jacobs Beauty Lux nail polish. I don’t even care that the Marc Jacobs nail polish chips after a couple days, I love the color that much. James said the polish would only be appropriate for a teenager during summer, but what does he know. I particularly enjoy using Lux as an “accent nail” paired with another MJ fave, Fluorescent Beige:

How gorgeous is this Rebecca Taylor lace tunic?! I am so ordering this:

The tunic would be perfect for spring parties with skinny white pants and my Jimmy Choo nude patent pumps (FYI get the ‘Abel’ with 4″ heel, because the ‘Anouk’ is too high at 5″). Or you could wear black Valentino Rockstuds.

This BCBG lace dress is the same idea. Love!

Need these J Crew heels! They go with nothing so they go with everything:

And from blogger Fast Food & Fashion:

So I’m calling it– Pantone Color of the Year 2015 will be some version of Acid Yellow!

xoxo,

Kathleen
